[cuddle bugs]

wow.
what a whirlwind these last five weeks have been!
i haven't had a minute to write.
it's amazing how much time is spent taking care of a newborn and three other kids!
i'm a bit overwhelmed.

i have so much to blog about... but any spare time i have i just want to cuddle in bed with my little boy bundle and the girls reading books and snuggling.  it's the best!

life is good :)

[just one day old]

swaddled tightly.
snug as a bug in a rug.
smelling ever so delicious.
fiesty as ever.

he melts me.

i always love the hospital experience...
me & my baby, fun visitors, food delivered right to my bed - it's a mini vacation!

jack's looks have changed a lot since the hospital.  he's two weeks old today and his chubby little cheeks are no longer.
these cheery flowers brought so much brightness to our room!

regrettably, we didn't take a lot of pictures during our stay.  the busy times were busy, and during the quiet moments, we just wanted to snuggle him. plus, i didn't have a creative bone in my body.  i was pretty pooped.

[introducing..]

he's here!!!
meet the newest member of our family!
little jack thomas has arrived!
weighing 7 lbs, 12 oz and 20 inches long, he's perfect

after eight and a half hours of labor and a lot of pushing (his little round head made it quite difficult :)
he came out with the cutest little cry.  sigh it was love at first sight when they laid him on me and i kissed that little face!  he's been so fun!  his big sisters are of course eating him up too!  they've been so good and such great helpers!

wow, watch out if he's hungry or it's time to change his diaper...
he's a screamer!!!
i call him the little lobster baby because when he gets so worked up he turns bright red and stiffens straight out :)  we laugh and feel bad at the same time... we know he's fine, just mad!
ooh, but he's so cuddly and quiet the rest of the time (for the most part) i would surely hold and kiss him all day long if i could - not with three other kiddies around!

he he he, notice his dark hairy little shoulders  (above :)

we're so blessed to have him here safe and sound, healthy and strong.
thank you dear friends and family for all the help you've given us with our kids, meals, treats, flowers and more!
we really feel so loved and supported during this exciting time!

and thank you dear sam for being the "mommy" this last week and a half!!!
he's really stepped in for me doing all of the laundry, carpool, homework, dishes, etc.
it will be quite interesting to see how things go down once he's back to work... i'm nervous!

and now that i'm somewhat back on my feet, you know i can't wait to take more pictures of this little man!
xoxoxoxo

[on the go go]

a Christmas gift from my mom: a mini fisher price keychain phone.  i love it.  cute for moms she said :)

on the road again!
carpool, errands, dr. appointments, repeat.
i'm trying to stay busy as the anticipation grows for our little man to come!

i'm approaching 36 weeks here and feeling so finito.

 35+ weeks prego

now, if you haven't been reading fit fatty, you gotta!  witty and motivating, this blog's got the beat!  with it being a new year and making new goals, we can all relate and he will keep you smiling!

i am loving this music by drew barefoot. it's just, ahhh, nice.

i think i'll go find a little kid to snuggle with now.

[despicable me]

wow, it's been a really long time since i've posted anything!
the holidays were busy and beautiful and it was a much needed break from our regular routine.

then came the bad colds...
bronchitis + pregnancy + an infected eye + a scrunched gallbladder = one miserable mommy - i was a wreck!
new years eve was spent at home in our jammies watching despicable me and eating popcorn with the kids
(thanks chad - it's the best popcorn maker ever!)
what a great show!

this last week sam had the week off, so i put him to good use with a large honey do list!
we cleaned out drains, organized the pantry, painted & moved the kid's bedrooms around as we prepare the nursery.

i think we're both nesting.  actually, sam usually always hits project mode in january...  it's a great trait.
sam decided our theme for 2011 is simplify
it's a good goal.
i like it.
de-clutter, streamline and organize

here's what i've dreamed up for the nursery.
sam's not going for it.  it's too modern/metro/whatever for him.

i get it.
who knows what we'll end up doing!  i do still think we'll do the transportation bedding and possibly a few other elements, we'll see.
we're getting down to the wire here...
must .  keep . working

i plan to enjoy the sunshine and clean up all the leftover project mess.
oh yeah, and finish taking down Christmas.
have a great monday!
