[master of the house]

my cute parents had the girls sleep over last night, so i've been able to catch up on a few things today!

i'm sitting here typing one handed while feeding jack lol.  it's hard.

i'm excited to finally post my bedroom makeover!  sadly, i didn't even think to take any "before" pictures,

 but here's what we did:

first off, we painted the ceilings white.  this made such a huge difference. 

i was going for light and bright in here, and wow, it sure opened up the room.

next, i painted my our headboard white.  it used to be a whitewash finish. 

i designed this mr & mrs print on photoshop and collected all the bedding, lamps and artwork 

at several different tj maxx & homegoods stores!

i am still working on my south wall (above).  

i have tons of white and gold frames;  some ornate and some simple... just a whole assortment with white mats.  

i've developed pictures to go in all of them, now sam and i just have to agree on how to hang them. 

i planned to hang a whole bunch of them over our bed and sam wouldn't go for it. 

so, i guess we'll have to position all of them around this mirror.

[claim to the last gumball]

so tonight after we put the picks to bed, sabrina comes creeping in with welled-up red eyes and oh so forlorn (gulliver's travels & you've got mail). 

 "what's wrong?" we ask her.  she gave us nothing.  no response.  she just silently sobbed.  this happens often.  she's our silent sulker.  

"sabrina, tell us what's wrong!" we pleaded.  

finally olivia comes out from the shadows and pipes in.  "she's sad because i took the last gumball."  

"yeah!  it's mine and it's the last one!" sabrina shouts.  "well, i licked it, so....." olivia declares.  kinda like this

wow! 

we started giggling and the rest is history.

[nursery rhymes part II]

okay, it's only taken me 4 months to post 

his nursery pictures...

seriously, the only reason i have the time to do this now is 

due to the fact that this little lovie is in the hospital tonight with rsv.  

what the heck? 

we avoided it all winter- i mean really avoided it- 

ask anyone, and now he gets it?

so sad. so lame.

sam took him in for suctioning and a breathing treatment 

and they decided to monitor him for several hours through the night.

of course i can't fall asleep and therefore decided to 

finally do a little blogging.

i needed to post these pictures of him because he's so cute!

despite all his coughing and wheezing, 

he still managed to smile at me all day today.  

bless him!

ooh! i love him!  

please say a little prayer for him will you?

and the jack be nible jack be quick print art was created by myself in photoshop.  i need to try illustrator, i hear it's even neater for creating things like this :) any advice?

okay, so i've taken quite the hiatus from blogging these last few months...  i've been busy!

in preparation for jack's blessing i got on a total 

"project kick" (events are the best excuse to get stuff done!)

well, one project turned into another and another and four and five and so on.

whew!  i've been working my tail off!  i don't know how so many amazing do-it-yourself moms do it!  i got so exhausted hauling my kids around from store to store.  when do you people go shopping?  most stores don't stay open late enough. when do you work your magic? at night after the kids go to bed?  that was the only time i had, and i about killed myself off!

sunday was jack's blessing day and it turned out to be the beautiful, sunny, spring day i had been praying for.  

sam gave jack such a special blessing.

one of many parts that resonated the loudest was when he blessed him with a kind heart.

if you know sam, you know that he has the kindest, most compassionate heart.

if that is one thing jack inherits from his father, he's set!  he'll make an amazing husband and father some day :)

my heart was full and bursting during the meeting.

i stood and bore my testimony and i'm afraid i sounded totally ridiculous, but, that's what spewed out and i hope i made some sort of sense lol.

we had family and friends back to our house and enjoyed a delicious lunch thanks to all those who brought such amazing food!

my cute sister-in-law melisa made the most tasty little dessert, blond snickerdoodle brownies.  everyone wanted the recipe.  i'm excited to get my hands on it and share it with y'all!

as the party died down, i grabbed my sister-in-law beki and asked her if she'd snap a few pics of me & jack back in my bedroom; she happily obliged and captured some really cute moments of the two of us.  thanks bek!

and check this out, my grandfather brought with him his old school nikon to give to me!

i'm so excited to play around with it!

he's so cute, he's always so interested and supportive of me & my hobbies.
